Directory based search engines vary from the search engines described so far in that they use human reviewers to examine site content and review submissions. These human editors mark a description for your site based on its site content, and arrogant that the submission is done properly, also based on a description that you supply with your submission.
The directories each have their own strategy and house style, and the closer that your submission follows this strategy and house style, the closer the description written by the editor will match the one you supply.
